Mai notiert sie: »Any idea who these enterprising people are?« Wir klären auf: Alle drei Künstler waren Mitglied in der 1933 von Paul Nash gegründeten Künstlergruppe »Unit one«. – Sie schreibt ferner über ein geplantes Fernsehspiel für die BBC, erinnert an Geburtstage, »I sent off a slightly improved copy of ›The Samaritans‹ to Elliott Kastner […] He is a preoducer and did ›Where Eagles Dare‹«. In einem ausführliche Postscriptum äußert sie sich über den afro-amerikanischen Schriftsteller Chester Himes: »He’s worse when he drinks. I haven’t seen him in ages, but I would imagine that his years are tempering him somewhat. Like Richard Wright, he would really like to bury a knife in the heart of any white person.«
