english description:
Includes 24 color lithographs—one appears on the front cover of the slipcase—20 signed, and a monochrome print of the title lithograph. The text sheets are loose inside the original cloth case.
One of 120 copies; an additional 20 »hors commerce«. – In addition to the 20 signed color lithographs from the series, the case contains four unsigned lithographs: the frontispiece, title page, and final illustration (in color) and the half-title page (monochrome), an endleaf printed entirely in black and brown, and 15 sheets featuring the text calligraphied and illustrated by Miró. – Overall, a very fine copy of this attractive late work, with which Miró once again drew upon Jarry’s »Ubu Roi« from 1966 (see Lot 318) and »Ubu aux Baleares« from 1971 (Lot 325).
Scattered, tiny foxing on the margins or edges. The back of the first 3 pages slightly more affected.
