english description:
With 16 full-page color lithographs, including one each on the front cover and the slipcase. Thread-sewn double-paged sections in an original color-lithographed wrapper. In original chemise and cloth slipcase.

One of 110 copies (total print run 116). – Signed by the artist and author in the colophon. – Printed on Auvergne mould-made paper. – The lithographs were printed by Serge Lozingot on Jean Dubuffet’s hand press in his studio. – »Jean Dubuffet was the most important and outspoken French artist of post war era. A man of uncompromising ideas, his art is linked to the concept he himself originated, ›art brut‹, which denotes a spontaneous, unconscious, and anti-artistic quality. His art ranges from expressionistic figuration to abstraction of a severe and very conceptual form. Versatile in painting, drawing, and sculpture, Dubuffet was an accomplished printmaker who produced a considerable number of artists‘ books.« (Robert Flynn Johnson, in: LC)
